DAMP — The Chemical Engineering Department Academic Mentoring Programme
DAMP+ adds an alumni layer to DAMP — the department's own academic mentoring programme for second-year undergraduate students.
Inviting 20 IIT Bombay Chemical Engineering alumni for the 1st in-person session
DAMP — the Department Academic Mentoring Programme — pairs every second-year Chemical Engineering student with third- and fourth-year seniors: someone a little further along to turn to for course choices, workload and campus life.
DAMP+ is that layer added on top of DAMP: Alumni bring the industry perspective a peer mentor can't — real-world experience, choices, and career paths. The Alumni TimeBank turns alumni time into structured contribution — pledged, matched to a real need, and followed through to impact.
If you are an IIT Bombay Chemical Engineering alumnus from the classes of 1980 to 2015 and would like to support students, start by expressing your interest. The form will then ask separately whether you can join the in-person session on Friday, 9 October 2026 from 6.30 pm.
You help shape what comes next
Cannot make this date? Please still express your interest. Future DAMP+ touchpoints can include remote and in-person options. Participating alumni will help define the engagement itself — including the format, frequency and focus of future sessions.
Your expression of interest is the Collect step. The form separately captures whether you are available on 9 October 2026, allowing the TimeBank to match you to this session or a future DAMP+ opportunity.
No. What matters is that Chemical Engineering shaped your path in some way — core process roles, adjacent technical sectors, or a non-core path you moved into afterwards all count.
No. Please express your interest even if you are not based in Mumbai. The department will try to arrange for Guest House stay (subject to availability).
Not for this evening — it's small-group conversations, not one-on-one assignments. Any longer-term matching would be discussed separately, with no obligation.
You will first share your background, then indicate whether you are available for the 9 October 2026 session. The TimeBank Office will follow up about this session or a future opportunity that fits your interests and availability. No ongoing commitment is assumed.
